Our place

Hidden by the walls of the 1700 year old Diocletian's palace, sits our enchanted private terrace, neatly tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the old towns very centre.

Crafted in stone , sheltered from the sun by the Milesi palace and our gracious 70 year old fig tree that caringly shields our gusts from the sun, our terrace offers the perfect ambiance for you to create moments in life with us.
Overlooking the terrace, our house bears centuries of history in hospitality where some of the greatest laid their head. The greatest of them all, Croatian poet Tin Ujević created sitting here and drew inspiration from the unparalleled ambiance.

We zealously preserved whatever we could with much love. Being true to the original, we were also mindful of Your comfort as every room is modernly furbished inside and equipped with all the necessary amenities.
Every wooden piece was handcrafted by our in-house carpenter and presents a work of art in its own right.
We boast yet another, rooftop terrace that is reserved as a lounge and Zen area only for You to enjoy while overlooking the almost two millennia old Diocletian’s palace.

Our calling

We see hosting guests as much more than just providing a bed and meal as we find thrill in providing the most wholesome and personalized service we could only wish to encounter when traveling ourselves. Anything can be arranged since our motto is ''For impossible it takes just a little more!''

All of our guests are welcome to become a part of our family and, even if for a short while, make us more diverse and thus richer.

We love to break bread with our guests in the morning and over breakfast we help them plan daily activities with many, hopefully, useful tips and tricks.

Deluxe Double Room

Our building represents a journey to the past and the room brings You back to modern times. It represents a perfectly serene getaway from the picturesque but noisy square.

Relaxing has never been easier as we went out of our way to think of every detail that is at arm’s reach for You.

Deluxe Single Room

We took a perfectly normal room, the same size as the other Double Rooms and made it a solo traveller’s sanctuary.

Solo travelers naturally become part of our dynamic and more easily blend into our Makarun family.

Luxury Suite

Special moments are something that is hard to create. We had that in mind when designing our Luxury Suite.

Located on our top floor consisting of two levels and boasting a charming balcony, it is a nest like no other.

Breakfast

They say Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and we go out of our way to make a statement out of that. Bored with classic hotel buffets and having a fine dining restaurant on our hands at the same time, we decided for a three coursed breakfast served under the magical fig tree in our courtyard.

The food is all locally sourced and most of it is actually homegrown and homemade. Nena, the breakfast chef, hand picks her fresh ingredients at the break of dawn and then incorporates them into our traditional and varied meal, all while having a balanced diet in mind.

Choose Your own table according to preference - a more private one if You want Your peace and quiet in the morning or one closer to everyone if You want to meet the other guests and be part of our little breakfast club.

Sustainability

We are very proud of every step we took to ensure our footprint on the environment is as small as possible. We love our beautiful coast and strive to preserve the natural beauties it possesses.

We only cooperate with companies that have obtained eco certificates in compliance with EU laws and directives. We make great efforts on a daily basis to adjust our business model to eco friendly standards with our guests getting the maximum comfort they deserve in the process.

We implement a model of zero food waste which we will introduce our guests to over breakfast. We also use many digital features as to avoid waste of energy and material.
